THOMASTON – Mr. John Searcy, Jr., age 92, of Thomaston, Ga., died February 28, 2013 at Providence Health and Rehab.
Mr. Searcy was born on May 4, 1920 to the late John and Lillie Searcy. He worked with Edenfield Vending Company for 40 years and was later employed with Winn-Dixie. Mr. Searcy served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the European Theater and was stationed in France. He was a member of Silvertown-Hightower Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Linda (James) Graves of Lilburn, Ga., Mrs. Nancy (Larry) Edwards of Fayetteville, Ga., Miss Dawn Searcy of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Mrs. Betty (Verlon) Brooks of Carrollton, Ga.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens.
