Beloved teacher and mentor Jim Argroves passes away at the age of 63

Mr. James R. Argroves, age 63, of 353 Easy St. Thomaston, died at his home, Friday morning March 8, 2013.

Mr. Argroves, taught Liturature, English and the Arts for 30 years, most of which was within the Upson County School System. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Argroves is the son of the late Jacob Carl Argroves and Mabel Collier Argroves Mullins.

Mr. Argroves, is predeceased by his brother, Jerry Argroves, and sister, Carol Woodall. He is survived by three sisters, Jean Smith, Gail (Loren) Teal, both of Thomaston; and Mary (Jim) Barnes, of Manchester. Several Neices, Nephews and Cousins also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Argroves will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday March 10th, 2013, at Matthews Field. The Family will receive friends immediately following the service, at Matthews Field.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the James R. Argroves Memorial Student Scolarship Fund at the West Central Georgia Bank.
