DALTON, Ga. - Mrs. Eloise Heaton Akins, 88, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Dalton, Ga.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Akins will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joey Smith officiating. The family of Mrs. Akins will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Akins was a native of Upson County. She was a retired lab technician for Thomaston Mills.

Mrs. Akins was a life-long member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Nellie Rogers Heath, her sister, Reba Fordham, and a niece, Linda Fordham Bundy.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Heaton (Robert) Varner of Dalton; and two grandchildren, Stewart Varner and Jay (Jamie) Varner of Atlanta.
