THOMASTON - Mrs. Idella Smith Stewart, age 95, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Providence Health Care.

Mrs. Stewart was a native of Ellijay, born on May 8, 1917 to the late James Clifford Smith and Lula Maude Lawson Smith. She worked for 24 years as a shipping inspector for Thomaston Mills.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee “Ed” Stewart, and three sons, Wayne Stewart, Kenneth Stewart and Billy Stewart.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Stewart of Meansville, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Stewart will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in South View Cemetery with Rev. Joey Smith officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to East Thomaston Baptist Church, P. O. Box 329, Thomaston, GA 30286.
