THOMASTON - Reverend Frank Floyd Strickland, 89, of Thomaston, Ga. passed away January 28, 2013. He was born March 5, 1923 in Winter Garden, Fla. He was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1948 and served within six churches.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Sarah Strickland and two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Julia Strickland of Thomaston; sons, Rocky (Melba) Strickland of Yatesville, Jarrell (Shelia) Strickland of Macon, Jeff (Debra) Strickland of Fayetteville; daughter Ellen (Eddie) Guthrie of Fayetteville; two sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Reverend Hubert Smith will officiate. The burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Forest Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
