Why is there so much pushback on President Obama’s new cabinet nominees by Republicans? Even though I am one of President Obama’s toughest critics, the partisan madness in DC has to end. At the same time, I agree with some Democrats that President Obama’s new top administrative advisors should reflect more diversity. Although I must admit, I am very disappointed with the pettiness - for no other American president has ever faced the visceral animosity over such remedial declarations.

Here is the way it works; every president has the right to choose the most qualified individuals that he or she feels will best serve his or her administration. Afterwards the Senate has the right to ask nominees questions that pertain to their policy views, but a senator’s ideological disagreement is not a justification for disqualifying any candidate. Therefore I would agree with Republicans that Susan Rice railroaded herself by misleading the American public regarding Benghazi, but Chuck Hagel is an honorable choice for Secretary of Defense even though I personally prefer Vice Admiral Carol M. Pottenger. And Jack Lew is more than reputable for Treasury Secretary, although my preference would have been Suze Orman.

Sooner or later someone in the Republican Party is going to wake up and realize their political strategy over the last eight years has not worked very well. Pontius Pilate (House Speaker John Boehner) continues to try and wash his hands of the treacherous deals he makes with his opponents. Meanwhile America’s financial stability progressively worsens as Nero (President Barack Obama) irresponsibly burns though trillion dollars deficits. Nevertheless, this political chicanery would not be possible without the court jesters (journalists) unwillingness to investigate and report the lawlessness that has overtaken Washington.

Republicans have been corrupted by defense contractors, the NRA, the oil and coal industries, insurance corporations, drug corporations, Grover Norquist, and most outsourcers. And the Democrats have been compromised by trial lawyers, the NEA, the auto and entertainment industries, federal employee unions, the gambling industry, George Soros, and the media industry. However, both parties sold out to the financial monarchs and real estate plutocrats. None of the six major bank executives and government bureaucrats (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) were prosecuted for their white collar crimes that led to the 2008 financial crisis. Instead these crooks were bailed out against the will of the American people. And even though they use their corporate media conglomerates to besmirch their critics; it doesn’t change the facts.

In no society is it ordained that the minority shall rule the majority. Nonetheless, our two party system was purchased by the corrupt influence of a wealthy few. And by limiting our choices and dividing the American people; the ruling class has no one to answer to-for they own all those in power. Thus, there are no checks and balances to rein in the crony capitalism and corporate raiding.

More importantly I can continue to write about the lunacy that has besieged our land, but until we join forces and challenge the evil - the darkness shall remain. Each one of us has a stake in our manifest destiny and it is up to us to shine light upon the darkness wherever it lurks. It is absolutely amazing to those of us who are paying attention that we have allowed the inmates to run the asylum for so long without intervention. And there are no logical explanations for the insane behavior of politicians other than greed.
