Upson Regional Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the New Year a few days into 2013. Jake McFarlan, son of Matt and Kathryn McFarlan, arrived at 7:58 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 3. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 19 inches long. As a New Year baby, Jake was presented a variety of presents from Upson’s Labor and Delivery staff.
