On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate attorney Robert G. “Rob” Mikell of Snellville on his appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal as commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

A native of Thomaston now living in Snellville, the commissioner will be well served In his new position by his 17 years of experience in the legal profession, including previous service as deputy director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, deputy chief assistant solicitor-general for Dekalb County and assistant district attorney for Rockdale County.

Mr. Mikell’s acceptance of this appointment demonstrates his continued commitment to public service, which In turn serves to promote the cause of justice, uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens. We wish him well in this new position of statewide leadership.
