Melody Gaskins, a 1st grade teacher at Upson-Lee South Elementary, has been chosen as the 2013-2014 Thomaston-Upson School System Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Gaskins was selected for the system honor by a panel of school and community judges. Areas of judging included a written application, classroom observation, and a personal interview. Mrs. Gaskins will represent the Thomaston-Upson School System in the 2014 Georgia Teacher of the Year competition.
