The rec league baseball regular season is nearing the end, and the playoffs are on the horizon. Here is a look at some recent action.

Dixie Minors (10 & Under)

Rangers: 15

Orioles: 3

The Rangers scored 15 runs in three innings on their way to a 15-3 victory over Orioles. Gabe Weatherford led the Rangers defensively, tossing a complete game and striking out eight batters.

Abrym Martin led the Rangers offensively with three hits and three runs scored. Weatherford also helped himself out with a triple, home run and three runs scored.

Ashton Lee finished with two hits and two runs scored, while Ty Gresham and Zach Nada each tallied one hit and one run scored for the Rangers.

Nolan Blair and Stephen Bradshaw each led the Orioles with two hits and a run scored in the loss.

Orioles: 10

Cardinals: 9

The Orioles scored five runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Cardinals by a 10-9 score. Nolan Blair led the Orioles with two doubles and a run scored.

John Marriage also had two hits in the game, while Austin Collins and Hayden Littleton each tallied a hit and scored a run in the victory.

The Cardinals took advantage of 14 walks in the game to score many of their nine runs. Jax Harrison led the Cards with a double and run scored, while Jaden Weems added two singles in the defeat.

Rookie League (8 & Under)

White Sox: 12

A’s: 2

Caden Speck led the White Sox with three hits and three runs scored on their way to a 12-2 victory over the A’s. Camden O’Neal, Miquavius Smith, and Hunter Smith all finished with three hits in the game.

Andrew Ard, Brodie Richardson, Briyse Wheeler and Allen Hunsinger all finished with two hits each in the game. Ridge Gulledge chipped in with one hit in the victory for the White Sox.

Trey Wells tallied three of the four hits for the A’s in their loss. Wells also added scored both runs in the game, while Jordan Raines chipped in with a hit in the loss.

Braves: 11

Rangers: 0

Trent Peaden led the Braves with three hits and two runs scored, as the Braves shut out the Rangers by an 11-0 score. Thomas Reeves also finished with three hits in the victory.

Trace Peaden and Akeondre Chaney each tallied two hits and scored a run, while Ethan Newman, Hayden Salter, Cohen Ivie, and Musan Hardeman each chipped in with one hit in the victory.

Walker Stevens, Jayden Wise, and Tanner Smith all finished with one hit in the loss for the Rangers.
