The 2015 Flint River Academy Cheerleading Squad participated in a four-day Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp at Auburn University where they learned cheers, dances, and stunts for the upcoming athletic season at FRA. The girls had lots of fun and look forward to using what they learned in the upcoming season.
The squad earned the Most Improved Award. It was the first year of going to a UCA camp for FRA because they usually attend NCA camps which are much smaller with only two or three schools attending.
There were over 15 squads at the Auburn camp and, as senior Abby Porter said, “We didn’t really know what to expect and as most of the squads there were competition teams, we were an underdog.” Sponsor Amanda Evans said the girls learned the material and gave a solid performance by the end of camp.
