In Coach Tommy Parks’ second season at the helm of the Upson Lee Knights football program, the Upson Lee Knights finished with an 8-3 record, losing to Liberty County in the first round of the State Playoffs.

Since Parks has taken over, the Knights have won 15 games, while losing just six games. This season Upson Lee scored 320 points on their way to a third place finish in Region 2. That’s the most points the Knights have scored in a regular season since 1993, when under Coach Tommy Purdue, the Knights finished with an 11-2 record. In that regular season Upson Lee scored a total of 348 points.

The 2015 season saw Upson Lee set numerous school records. School records were set for single games, a season, and a career. One of the biggest records to fall was the most touchdowns in a single season. In 1993 Tyrone Perry rushed for 20 touchdowns, as did Corey Moss in 2011. This season Quay Reviere shattered that record, rushing for 23 touchdowns and catching two more touchdowns, for a total of 25 scores. He also set a season record for points scored, finishing with 152 points for the season. He finished with 1,523 yards rushing, which is good for second best in school history for single-season, just behind Tyrone Perry, who rushed for 1,553 yards in 1993. Reviere carried the ball 270 times, which also sets a new school record. The senior running back also ties single-game records, scoring 26 points vs Howard (Alex Collier-26, 1999) and for his 39 carries vs. Liberty County (Corey Moss- 39, 2012).

Upson Lee junior quarterback Kalen Puckett found himself in the history books again this season. Last year he became the first quarterback to ever throw for 1,000+ yards. He accomplished that feat once again this season, passing for a school record 1,166 yards. Puckett set a single-season records with 158 pass attempts and 73 completions. For his career Puckett now has 3,034 yards passing, which is also a school record. He holds the record for most pass attempts 428, completions, 202, and interceptions 27. Puckett also has thrown 22 touchdowns passes in his career, which ties the school record.

Junior Wyqauvious Battle finished with 30 catches for 514 yards and three touchdowns. Battle’s 514 receiving yards places him third on the single-season list behind Eldred King and Charlie Walker.

With all of these points being scored, Rich Stewart benefited and also took his place in the UL history books. The junior kicker has now booted 71 PATs for his career, setting a new school record.

Defensively in 2015, the sophomore linebacker duo of Lazavier Moore and Jayden Barron ran rampant through Region 2. Moore led the Knights with 95 tackles, while his counterpart Jayden Barron finished with 88 tackles. Both players also tied for the team lead in solo tackles, finishing with 43 each. Upson Lee senior David Marshall led the Knights in tackles for a loss with 17 and forced fumbles with five, while he and junior Raekwon King each led the team with four sacks. Senior Donovan King tied a school single-season record with five interceptions.

Here is a look at the stat leaders for 2015.
