Pros come to Thomaston

Elder Jemell Stephen, Pastor Barry Kelso, J.W. Bentley, Dr. Zackary Hicks, and Pastor W.J. Rideout III are some of the people who are responsible for bringing the camp to Thomaston.

The 3rd annual Pros Come to Thomaston Youth Basketball Camp will take place this week, Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Civic Center and Silvertown Baptist Church gymnasium.

The camp is free to kids from ages 8-15. They are expecting anywhere from 125-150 campers, that will learn the fundamentals of basketball.

Some of the guests speakers and coaches include Eli Holman, who was an All-Star in the Chinese Basketball League last year. He also played at Michigan University.

Chuck Bailey will also be at the camp. Bailey played seven years of professional basketball all around the world. Former UGA star and Georgia High School Basketball Player of the Year Marcus Thornton is also expected to make an appearance at the camp. Guest speaker Adam Pensack will also be at the camp. Penseck is a sports management agent from Oakland, California

Sponsors of the camp include Bentley’s and Sons, Slivertown Baptist Church, Ultimate Sports, Little Caesars, and Faith Clinic Church.
