First Posted: 5:58 am - October 31st, 2015

Submitted The ULMS Knights defeated the Gray Station Greyhounds by a 22-6 score on Wednesday, capturing the CGMSAL (Central Georgia Middle School Athletic League) Championship. The Knights used a powerful running game to control the clock and time of possession on their way to victory. “In the 28 years I’ve been a coach, I have never seen a team come so far in such a short time,” said Knights Coach Tim Cook. “We started the season out 2-2, and at the time, making the playoffs was up in the air. However, these guys bought into our program and worked extremely hard to accomplish our goal, and I am extremely proud of them.” This makes the second year in a row in which the Knights have advanced to the CGMSAL Championship Game, finishing as the Runners-Up to Monroe County in 2014. Upson Lee knocked off Lamar County, Henderson (Jackson), and Gray Station (Gray) in the playoffs this season. Congrats to Coach Tim Cook, his staff, and his players on a great season.
