There have been some really good baseball games down at the Civic Center over the past few week, while other games have been postponed due to bad weather. However, with the playoffs around the corner, every game is all the more important. Here is a look at some recent action.

Dixie Minors (10 & Under)

Rangers: 13

Cardinals: 1

Zach Nada struck out eight batters and Shondarious Fambro finished with theee hits, including a home run, and scored three runs in the Rangers 13-1 victory.

Fambro started the hitting for the Rangers in the top of the first inning with a solid single. Gabe Weatherford followed with a double, followed by a double from Abrym Martin, giving the Rangers a 2-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Rangers scored six runs, drawing four walks, followed by a home run from Fambro. Abrym Martin then tripled, and Zach Nada drove home Martin with a RBI single, giving the Rangers an 8-0 lead.

Shandarious Fambro led the Rangers with three hits and three runs scored. Abrym Martin finished with two hits and two runs scored, while Gabe Weatherford, Ashton Lee, and Zach Nada all finished with a hit and run scored.

Freddie Bloodworth tallied the only hit and run scored for the Cardinals, connecting on a double in the fourth inning.

Orioles: 15

Braves: 1

Austin Collins drilled three hits and scored a run to lead the Orioles to a 15-1 drubbing over the Braves. John Marriage pitched well for the Orioles, giving up just two hits while striking out seven batters.

Collins led the Orioles with his three hits, followed by two hits from Nolan Blair, John Marriage, and Garret Cromer.Brandarious Caldwell, Jameze Ross, Dawson Caldwell, and Hayden Littleton each chipped in with one hit for the Orioles.

Nick Davis and Justin Carroll tallied the only two hits for the Braves in the loss.

Cardinals: 6

Braves: 3

Freddie Bloodworth gave up just one hit and struck out 12 batters in the Cardinals 6-3 victory over the Braves.

However, the Braves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Nick Davis led the game of for the Braves, and collected the Braves only hit of the game. Drake Dennis then walked, followed by Luke Willis getting hit by a pitch. Bloodworth then walked two more batters, giving up two runs.

In the bottom of the first inning, Bloodworth helped himself out with a double, followed by a double from Zae Howard. The next batter was hit by a pitch, and Luke Smith drove home two runs with a double. At the end of the first inning, the Cardinals led by a 3-2 score.

Bloodworth then settled down, striking out the side. The Cards added three more runs in the fifth inning. sealing the 6-3 victory.

Freddie Bloodworth and Zae Howard led the Cardinals with two hits and two runs scored, while Evan Showalter added a double and two runs scored.

Nick Davis tallied the only hit for the Braves in the game.

Dixie Youth (12 & Under)

Astros: 16

Royals: 1

The Astros scored six run in the first inning on their way to a 16-1 domination of the Royals. Jordan Foster led the Astros with two hits and a run scored.

Anthony Wiggins finished the game with a hit and three runs scored, while both Silas Laughman and Trenton Walls each tallied one hit and scored two runs. Levi Thompson chipped in with one hit and scored on run for the Astros in their victory.

Steven Marriage led the way for the Royals with two hits and a run scored, while Trenton Nelson added a hit and run scored in the defeat.

Braves: 10

Mets: 2

The Braves scored two run in each of the first two innings on their way to a 10-2 victory over the Mets. Trey Kelly led the way for the Braves with three hits, three runs scored, and four RBI.

Ross Parker added a hit and scored three runs for the Braves in the victory, while Murray Deen and Quitnon Barron each chipped in with one hit for the Braves.

The Mets scored all three of their run in the game in the fourth inning. Jake Davis belted a triple, followed by a RBI single from Austin Pitts. Mason Peoples then drove home Pitts with a RBI base hit. Those were the only three hits for the Mets in the game.

Braves: 4

Cubs: 1

Trey Kelly toed the rubber for the Braves and struck out 10 Cubbies to help lead the Braves to a 4-1 victory.

The Braves scored took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, after Ross Parker reach on an error, eventually coming home to score.

Quinton Barron led the second inning off with a solid base knock, and came home to score later in the inning, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead. The Braves added two more run in the fifth inning, sealing the 4-1 victory.

Barron and Logan Gordy led the way for the Braves with a hit and run scored, while Will Harvey also chipped in with a hit for the Braves.

Miller Patterson and Phillip Green tallied the only two hits for the Cubs in the game.
