Debbie Helms finds egg at The Thomaston Times

Laurie LewiS|The Thomaston TimesDebbie Helms of Thomaston was the Wednesday winner in the Thomaston Egg Hunt, going on this week as part of Make Thomaston Shine and Georgia Cities Week. Each day this week, WTGA gave out clues on the whereabout of the egg, plus there were clues in a flyer sent to city residents with their utility bills. The first person to guess and get to the location of the ‘egg’ won a prize for that day. Debbie showed up at the front door of The Thomaston Times bright and early Wednesday morning and was the first person to guess that The Times was the location. One way that sports’ teams honor their former players, coaches, and managers is to retire the uniform number that they wore during their career. These numerals are normally displayed in the team’s stadium in some manner, usually on the outfield fence or wall. The concept of retired numbers is an interesting one to study.
