SubmittedFamilies Feeding Families of Middle Georgia recently received a donation of $7,500 from the Upson EMC Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase a cooker for the non-profit organization, which provides families in need with home-cooked meals. The Upson EMC Foundation uses money collected through Operation Roundup, in which Upson EMC customers voluntarily have their monthly bills rounded up to the nearest dollar, to provide funding for a variety of worthwhile charities. After two tough losses by a combined three points against Taylor County and Stockbridge, the Upson-Lee Knights came away with a 74-72 victory over Northside-Warner Robins in their home opener on Friday night. The Knights struggles from the free throw line led to their 0-2 start, making only 12 of 29 against Taylor County and 9 of 32 against Stockbridge.However, on Friday the Knights got to the charity stripe 41 times, making 28 free throws for a .689 percent clip in the game.

The season four episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ that was filmed at Sprewell Bluff in August will be shown this Sunday, December 1, at 9 p.m. on AMC. This episode is the mid-season finale for Season Four of the series and is entitled ‘Too Far Gone.
