It is great to hear that Upson-Lee defensive tackle David Marshall has received a number of college scholarship offers from Division-1 college football teams. Although he is just a junior, David has obviously made a very positive impression on recruiters from schools like Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn. Hopefully he will continue to make progress and improve in order to get the opportunity to get a college education and play major college football.

City approves rezoning moratorium

The Thomaston City Council unanimously approved a 12-month rezoning moratorium at their meeting on September 2. The moratorium will give the city time to update its aging zoning ordinance.City Attorney Joel Bentley and City Manager Patrick Comiskey made the request for the moratorium to the council. Bentley said there are several reasons why a moratorium is needed.
