The Cotton Pickin’ Fair will be May 4-5

Contributed

On May 4 and 5 look for fried green tomatoes and a slice of history at The Cotton Pickin’ Fair on the grounds of the Gay Family’s 180 year old farmstead in the little town of Gay.

Now in its 41st year, The Cotton Pickin’ Fair features the works of 325 artisans, antique specialists, and gourmet food vendors from across the United States.

Artisans bring pottery, weaving, sculpture, woodcarving, painting, jewelry, wearable art, gourmet food, and antiques to make The Cotton Pickin’ Fair the perfect place for a truly unique, made-in-America shopping experience.

The Cotton Pickin’ Fair is a not only fantastic shopping, it’s also great entertainment and delicious southern foods. Enjoy folk dancers and blue grass music at the Main Stage or visit one of the other stages and see lively marionettes perform, magical illusions and sleight of hand, or the old time country sounds of the Honey Creek Band.

Local civic clubs, churches, and schools provide an extravagant selection of mouth-watering southern foods that are baked, fried, broiled, and barbequed on site; so, arrive with an appetite and join us for breakfast, lunch, or take a sack home for supper!

The Cotton Pickin’ Fair is sponsored by The 1911 Society, Ltd., a Georgia Non-Profit Corporation supporting sustainable rural development through Agri-Tourism. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 7-12. The fair is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
