Mrs. Mary Ruth Alexander Hamlett, age 95, of Thomaston, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Providence Nursing Home.

Mrs. Hamlett was born on September 30, 1917 in Pike County, Ga., to the late Joseph and Minnie Lee Smoot Alexander. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hamlett was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Hoyt Hamlett and, son Mr. Wallace Hamlett.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Hamlett (Edgar) Adams of Thomaston Ga.; sister, Mrs. Grethel A. Hill of Riverdale, Ga.; grandchildren, Tern Adams Anderson, Brad (Christy) Adams, all of Thomaston, Ga., Bonnie (Kim) Wat1ins of Zebulon, Ga., Lisa (Mike) Hammond of Fayetteville, Ga.; great-grandchildren Daley, Eric, Alicia Anderson, Austin, Anna Adams, all of Thomaston, Ga., Claire, Reece, Cole Watkins, all of Zebulon, Ga., Sarah, Rachel Hammond of Fayetteville, Ga.

Funeral services were held on Thursday January 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial followed in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.
