To the Editor:
I recently spent a few days at the Upson County Bed and Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, better known as the Upson County Jail.
I personally have issues with the Upson County Judicial System, but that’s not why I’m writing this letter.
Jailers. Why anyone would want that job, I don’t have a clue. It has to be the most thankless job ever. Expect to be cursed, spit at, and have any number of things thrown at you, from water to feces.
Rarely did I ever hear a “thank you” from anyone they took care of. It’s the jailers saying “Please,” “Thank you,” “I will try to get it for you.” I saw them treat some way better than they deserve, for sure. I saw this with my own eyes, many times.
I want to thank every one of you for the way you treated me, personally: Mr. Kent, Hamilton, Jordan, Little, Hutchenson, Samples, Dawson, Fountain, Gore, Knight, Reynolds, young Jason, Mrs. Wagner, White, Montgomery, Stackhouse, and the lady in control. There are several more with names I never got, and I’m sure I have left some of you out, but not on purpose. I thank everyone of you from the heart.
