Standard Textile, the world’s leading manufacturer and provider of total solutions in the institutional textiles and apparel markets, is now recruiting full-time associates for its manufacturing and distribution centers in Thomaston, Ga. Approximately 20 positions will be filled by the end of 2013. Available positions include sheet and terry weavers, tie–in operators and machine technicians.
The new positions are a result of expanding business, implementation of innovative manufacturing processes, and the purchase of weaving equipment and machinery.
“While many companies in the American textile manufacturing industry are struggling, we continue to grow,” said Gary Heiman, president and CEO of Standard Textile. “Our vast, versatile expertise and non-traditional methods allow us to develop new industry approaches, services, and products that help our customers achieve operational goals.”
Since 2009, Standard Textile Thomaston has had a steady upward headcount trend with no layoffs. “Compared to national voluntary turnover rates, the percentage at Thomaston’s facilities is quite low,” stated Michael Green, human resources manager.
“This is a great place to work because of the strong commitment Standard Textile has made in not only the facilities and equipment, but also in the lives of our associates and their families. We’re looking for associates who have experience in sheeting and terry weaving, machine operators (weavers), tie-in operators and weave machine technicians.”
The ideal candidate should be self- motivated, a fast learner, and a person who takes pride in doing an excellent job.
Competitive pay, excellent benefits, a commitment to steady growth, and a robust health and wellness program are just some of the qualities that make Standard Textile one of best privately-held companies to work for. Additionally, earlier this year, Standard Textile was recognized for the fourth year in a row as one of the “Healthiest Companies in America” by Interactive Health, the leading provider of outcomes-based wellness solutions.
In 2010, Standard Textile instituted a “No Tobacco Use” policy as a condition of employment in an effort to maintain a healthy work environment and affordable health care plans for its associates.
Applicants may apply online at www.standardtextile.com. Applicants can also apply in person, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., at One Peerless Road, Thomaston. Interviews will be conducted by appointment. Standard Textile is an equal opportunity employer.
