Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore submitted the following press releases:
In the pre-dawn hours of April 3, 2014 law enforcement officers from the Upson County Sheriff’s Office, Thomaston Police Department and the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located at 1721 Pickard Rd. in Upson County. The warrant was issued as a result of a drug investigation. Debris was located on the property that is consistent with waste left over from the process of manufacturing Methamphetamine. Other drug related items were found such as digital scales and drug smoking pipes.
The residence and property is in deplorable condition with excessive clutter and filth inside and out. The Department and Children’s Services was called to the location to take custody of three children who were present. Citations for the condition of the property were issued the owner of the property, Mark Teal, 48. Teal was previously charged with ordinance violations in February 2014 in relation to the condition of the property and had not appeared in court or complied with requests to clean up the property. Teal will have a May 1st court date on the new charges.
Ten people present on the property were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Those arrested were:

Mark Dwayne Teal, 29, 1721 Pickard Rd Thomaston, Ga. (also charged with two counts Cruelty to Children)
Jessica Teal, 23, 1721 Pickard Rd Thomaston, Ga.
Russell Jay Hammock, 29, 327 Hebron Church Road, Thomaston
Sealy Blount, 21, 1787 Cedar Rock Rd. Woodbury, Ga.
William Christopher Roberts, 48, 201 Pobiddy Road Thomaston
Erica Lynn Sanders,37, 418 Rose Creek Rd The Rock Ga
All remain in the Upson County Jail with no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 21, 2014 the Upson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary at 3110 Willis Road where $104,150 of jewelry was reported stolen. On April 1, 2014 Christopher Davis Smith, 39, and Lisa Michelle Goddard, 31, were arrested in connection with the case. Smith and Goddard were both staying at the residence with the victim at the time of the theft. Investigators recovered $101, 000 of the jewelry. Smith and Goddard were charged with Theft By Taking and remain in the Upson County Jail on a $135,000 bond.
