J. E. Bentley, Jr., owner of Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Upson County Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) at their annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Banquet Saturday night. The banquet features Jordan Thompson, Eugene Fuller, Jr., and Rev. Derrick Shelton of Springfield Baptist speaking on Dr. King - The Child, The Man, and The Clergy. In the upper photo, Rev. Shelton and the Springfield Male Chorus perform during the banquet. In the right photo, Paul Harper (left) and J. E. Bentley III, both sons of J. E.
