On Saturday, November 2, RUSH Ministries will be hosting a “Night of Worship for LIFE,” at the Upson-Lee Fine Arts Building at 6:30 p.m. The event, which is free to the public, will feature the RUSH Worship Band and speaker Marc Pritchett, President and CEO of RUSH Ministries. The goal of the evening is to raise $5,000 to fund a safe house for one year to benefit four young girls who have been the victims of sexual trafficking in Atlanta.

“The aim of the night is to worship God, while raising $5,000 to fund a safe house for four girls, for one full year,” said Pritchett. “These girls have been rescued from a life within the sex trade industry. The home is owned by a ministry, BeLoved Atlanta, who rescues girls that have been sexually trafficked or sexually enslaved in a life of prostitution.”

The local non-profit also hopes the event will bring awareness that human trafficking is something that goes on in the United States every day. In fact, Pritchett stated Georgia has recently become identified as one of the major hubs for sexual trafficking.

“What was once a terrible crime found only in some obscure third world country is now a crime in small town USA. We must speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves! The RUSH Night of Worship for LIFE is one way we can become a voice for those who have no voice.”

There are several ways that people can help, including bringing in old cell phones to donate, regardless of their condition to the event on November 2; any monetary donation to the cause can be made at the event or online at www.rushministries.com or by bringing any of these items to the RUSH offices located at 310 North Center Street in Thomaston.

Pritchett also stated there will be a monster truck called the RUSH Sin Crusher parked in front of various restaurants in Thomaston the week leading up to the event. On those days, if you eat lunch or dinner at the establishment and say “I am eating for LIFE,” then 10 percent of your bill will be donated to the goal of raising $5,000. The Sin Crusher will be at LaFiesta on Sunday, October 27; Chili’s on Monday, October 28; Piggy Park on Tuesday, October 29; Big Chic Uptown on Wednesday, October 30; Justin’s Place on Thursday, October 31; and American Pie Pizzeria on Friday, November 1.

Concessions will also be available during the Night of Worship for LIFE and everyone is welcome to have their picture taken with the RUSH Sin Crusher Monster Truck. Any questions can be emailed to tyler@rushministries.com or by calling the office at 1-866-991-RUSH. RUSH Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization and all gifts are fully tax deductible.
