Thomaston City Council member Patsy Perdue was elected to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) during the association’s annual meeting in Savannah June 28.
Perdue will serve as First Vice President of GMA’s 4th District. The district includes cities in the following counties: Carroll, Heard, Coweta, Troup, Meriwether, Spalding, Butts, Lamar, Pike and Upson. She has previously served as District 4 Second Vice President.
“We are pleased to have Council member Perdue taking on this leadership position,” said GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton. “She’s well respected by her colleagues, and I’m sure she’ll provide great leadership to the cities in her district.”
Council member Patsy Perdue was born and raised in Thomaston and is serving her second term on the City Council representing District 2. She retired from the Thomaston Upson School System in 2008. Perdue says that representing the families of her community is an honor.
Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical assistance services to its 520 member cities.
