Shirley Russell|The Thomaston Times Veterans, both active and retired, along with other residents at Golden Living Center, and the Rays of Hope Childcare staff, join with the children at the center for a group photo.

Rays of Hope Childcare recently honored veterans in the services of the United States, past and present. The children asked many questions such as “What does it take to be in the Army?” and “How long were you in the Army?”

Answering the questions were Army Sergeant First Class Jerry Henson, along with retired veterans Daniel Kiser and Allen LaPrade, representing veterans all the way back to World War II.

Kiser and LaPrade now call Golden Living Center home, and they were accompanied by Miss Golden Living Center Frances McDowell, Frances Hill, Lou Caviello, Ellen Gray, Ronald Cato, and L. T. Maines.

Rays of Hope Childcare honored all their guests with a cookout, and fun and games with the children and staff.
