Soldier killed in Kuwait will be given a military escort through Thomaston Monday

Funeral arrangements have been made for a U. S. soldier born in Thomaston who died last week in Kuwait and include a military transport escort around the Thomaston square Monday afternoon. Pfc. Monterrious T. Daniel, 19, of Griffin, an ammunition specialist with the 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, died in a non-combat-related incident in Kuwait.

Arrangements have been made through Bentley & Sons Funeral Home in Thomaston, which is arranging a ‘Welcome Home’ celebration. Pfc. Daniel”s body will arrive at the Thomaston-Upson County Airport Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. There will be a military transport escort from the airport through downtown Thomaston and around the square on the way to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home. His funeral will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 25, 2015 at the Thomaston Upson Civic Center.

Daniel entered the Army April 29, 2014, and arrived at Fort Carson in Colorado Oct. 5, 2014. He deployed to Kuwait Feb. 16, 2015, and was serving in Camp Buehring, Kuwait at the time of his death. Daniel had honorably served his nation for one year and two months.
