Upson Regional Medical Center’s Board of Trustees have announced Mark Hartman as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Hartman started work Nov. 2.
David Castleberry, Chief Executive Officer of Upson Regional Medical Center (URMC) for the past seven years, announced in September he was resigning to take a position in Savannah. Castleberry’s last day at Upson Regional will be Friday, Nov. 6. The community is cordially invited to a drop-in reception for him on Wednesday, Nov. 4, between 3-5 p.m. in the hospital auditorium.
Hartman is a principal in Spectrum Health Partners, LLC, a firm specializing in healthcare consulting and interim leadership. He has more than 30 years of experience working in and with hospitals and other healthcare companies. More than 20 years of his experience was spent in hospital leadership roles of CEO, CFO and regional CFO.
Board Chairman Bill Hightower says Hartman will serve until a permanent CEO Is hired. “Mark will provide day-to-day operational leadership and ensure major projects such as the construction of a heart cath lab, construction of a new medical office building, and on-boarding of Dr. Nancy Butler, a new Ear, Nose and Throat physician, are all successful. Having an interim CEO allows the Board of Trustees adequate time to perform due diligence in our search for a permanent CEO. “

He has experience as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Johnson County Regional Hospital, Northwest Health System, Helena Regional Medical Center, Delta Regional Medical Center, and Chicot Memorial , all in Arkansas.
