Upson Lee High School will hold its annual Homecoming Game, complete with the crowning of Miss Upson Lee Homecoming Queen and Princesses this Friday night, October 10, with the game between the Knights and the Perry Panthers beginning at 7:30 p.m. The crowning of the Homecoming Queen will take place at halftime.
But parents and supporters need to be aware that the annual Upson Lee High School Homecoming Parade has been moved to Thursday, October 9. The day of the parade was changed to Thursday because in the past, the Knights’ varsity football players have been unable to take part in the parade because of preparing for the game that night, and also because with the parade starting at 5 p.m. and the game at 7:30 p.m., it was often very rushed for both the parade participants and the parade watchers. By changing the parade to Thursday, it is hoped it will make for a more relaxed and fun atmosphere. The parade begins at 5 p.m. at Matthews Field, and will follow the usual parade route downtown. The annual bonfire in the Matthews Field parking lot will take place following the bonfire, and the seniors will paint the hill from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Friday night, coming early and join in the tailgating fun in the Matthews Field parking lot. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and the Homecoming Queen and Princesses will be named during halftime.
