THOMASTON - Mr. James Edgar Bridges, age 83, of Thomaston, Ga., died January 14, 2013 at Providence Health and Rehab.

Mr. Bridges was born on January 7, 1930 in Thomaston, Ga. to the late Norman and Ruth Bridges. He was employed with Thomaston Mills where he worked in the weave shop for 30 years. Mr. Bridges served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Thomaston Church of God where he served as an usher for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy C. Bridges of Thomaston, Ga.; daughter, Mrs. Donna 5. (William) Cochran of Elko, Ga.; sons, Mr. Mike (Terry) Bridges of Thomaston, Ga., Mr. Gary (Rita) Bridges of Thomaston, Ga.; brother , Mr. Sammy (Patsy) Bridges of Woodbury, Ga.; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. from Thomaston Church of God. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 5-7 p.m.

Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
