Thomas Pinta “T.P.” Prichard, age 86, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

A Graveside Service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery, Marietta.

Mr. Prichard was born and raised in Shawmut, Alabama. He attended West Point High School and Auburn University. While attending Auburn, Tom was drafted into the United States Army during World War II and spent a year in the Philippines. Upon return from the service Tom worked and taught in the Birmingham area, and moved to Smyrna, Georgia in 1954 to begin work for the Lockheed GA company in Marietta. Tom retired from Lockheed in 1989 after 34 years of service. While in Smyrna, Tom also acquired a law degree from Atlanta Law School. Tom was a past member of the First United Methodist Church of Smyrna where he served on the Administrative Board, Craftsmen, and Usher Teams; until his move to Anniston, Alabama, where he became a member of Golden Springs United Methodist Church.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Jane Vermilya and her husband, Wright and their children: Thomas, Andrew, and Christopher; son, Greg Prichard and his wife, Planett and their son, Matt and his wife, Courtney; and their daughter, Kristina and her daughter, Alexis; sisters, Emily Scales (Luther), Sara Bolt (the late, John).

Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Ga., in charge of arrangements.
