Woodland squeaks by Knights and Lady Knights

Upson-Lee freshman Kelcey Odums makes a run down the sideline in the Lady Knights 2-1 loss to Woodland on Friday. Upson-Lee sophomore Jordie Rogers scored the Lady Knights’ lone goal on a penalty kick in the first half of the game. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two overtime periods before deciding the game by penalty kicks. Woodland defeated Upson-Lee 4-3 on penalty kicks to earn the 2-1 victory. The loss was the first Region 4 loss for the Lady Knights, who take on travel to Hampton to take on the Lady Bulldogs from Dutchtown High School today at 5:30 p.m.

Upson-Lee junior and team captain Jake Sayer battles with a player from Woodland for possession of the ball. The Knights suffered a 1-0 loss, their first loss in Region play. It was also the first time the Knights have been shutout this season. Upson-Lee will face the Dutchtown Bulldogs in Hampton tonight at 7:30 p.m.
