Knights and Wildcats each have a “Captain in the Community”

The Atlanta Falcons have recognized two local football players from Thomaston for their leadership skills both on and off the field. Upson-Lee’s Jacob Gross (LB/TE) and Flint River Academy’s Seth Short (QB) have been chosen as Atlanta Falcons’ “Captains in the Community.” Each school will receive a $1,000 grant in the player’s name to help support their community. In order to be an Atlanta Falcons’ “Captain in the Community,” each player must carry a 3.0 GPA and have a voluntary involvement with a community service program. Jacob Gross is the son of Regina McCard and Tony McCard, and David Gross. Seth Short is the son of David and Angie Short.
