The ULMS Lady Knights opened up the first round of the CGMSAL (Central Georgia Middle School Athletic League) playoffs with a match up against the Lady Cougars from Clifton Ridge Middle School (Jones County). The Lady Knights entered the contest as the No. 2 seed in the West Division, while the Lady Cougars were the No. 3 seed from the East. The Lady Knights scored six runs in the first inning, not letting two home runs by Clifton Ridge deter them, as they went on to a 6-3 victory and pushing their record to 11-2 on the 2013 season. The Lady Knights Bayleigh Jackson led Upson-Lee with three hits, a run scored, and a RBI. Above, third baseman Ashlyn Murphy throws out a runner at third base. The Lady Knights traveled to Jones County on Thursday to face Grey Station in a Semi-Final match-up. The Lady Knights took an early 1-0 lead on the No. 1 seed in the East Division, but later in the game trailed 4-1. The Lady Knights scored two more runs, but their season came on a fly out with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, suffering a 4-3 defeat.
