Upson County government and County Attorneys Mallory and Trice, LLP have mutually agreed to part ways as of earlier this week. The firm has served as the county attorneys since for the past 20 years.

“The County Commission and the County Attorney’s have decided it was in the best interest of both parties to part ways at this time,” stated County Manager Jim Wheeless. “English and English Law Group will be serving as the interim county attorney until the end of the year, when a new appointment will be made.”

According to their website, Truitt A. Mallory and J. Edward Trice formed their practice in July of 1985 for the purpose of general practice with an emphasis on real estate, Social Security disability, divorce, and probate matters. The firm was appointed to serve as the County Attorney for Upson County in 1993, where they represented the county commission, as well as elected officials and departments.

English and English opened an office in Thomaston earlier this year and offers 50 years of combined law experience from partners Heath English and Paschal English.
